ATON Constellation Terms

This website is run by Atheron Network Inc. ("we", "us"). The company's details are at the foot of every page. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The site describes ATON Constellation: the app, how the network works, how points are worked out, the leaderboard and our approach to security and privacy. It has no download files and no accounts. Joining, downloading the app, linking machines and redeeming points happen in the members portal. The points and the contest also have their own rules.

The calculator uses the same rule and electricity prices as our points ledger, but what a machine really earns depends on the jobs it receives, the hours it is idle, verification and the monthly cap. The hardware check compares your answers with our minimum specs; it does not test your machine. Neither is a promise.

The live pages show the network from its public receipts and may be delayed, incomplete or paused. A page that shows "Collecting" has no figures yet.

Use the site lawfully and as our acceptable use policy describes. Do not try to break, overload, scrape at a harmful rate or get around the protections of the site or its chat.

The site, its words, pictures, marks and typefaces belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may quote it with a link. Atheron, ATON, ATON Constellation and ATON Kestrel are our names and marks.

The site links to other sites and services, such as the members portal, ATON Kestrel and the explorer. Their own terms apply there, and we are not responsible for sites we do not run.

The site is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using the site or relying on anything on it. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under a law that cannot be set aside by agreement.

The app runs verified jobs on the processors and graphics cards you choose, while your computer is idle or within the limits you set. You choose the devices, and you can pause the app or change its limits at any time.

Before the app runs any job or test, it asks you to accept these terms by ticking three boxes, and it asks again whenever a new version of these terms is published. Until you do, it takes no new jobs. We keep a record of each answer on your account: the date and time, your time zone, the version of these terms, the app version and the device.

Running jobs makes your processor and graphics card work harder, which makes them warmer and uses more electricity. The app includes limits for CPU and GPU use, temperature pauses and laptop caps. These limits reduce the risk but cannot remove it, and they depend on the temperature readings your computer gives.

You are responsible for your own computer's safety settings, to prevent overheating and damage. Set the app's limits to suit your computer, keep it well ventilated, follow your manufacturer's guidance, and stop or adjust the app if your computer gets too hot, loud or unstable.

You use the app at your own risk. The app and the network are provided as they are and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atheron Network Inc. is not responsible for damage to your computer or other equipment, including damage from heat, wear, a power failure or a fault in the app, for data loss, or for higher electricity or internet costs that may result from running the app.

Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under a law that cannot be set aside by agreement, including the consumer protection law where you live.

We may change these terms. Each change is a new version with its date, and earlier versions stay readable on this page.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Disputes are heard by the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
