// Points and rules
Your power, paid back.
With 50% on top, as plan credit.
Every checked result earns points for the electricity it used. One point is one Canadian cent of credit toward your Atheron plan. Here is every rule, plainly.
// The rule
Power, times price, plus 50%
Points are worked out live for each checked result and rounded down.
- =Energy used, in kWh
- ×times your country's average household price, in Canadian dollars per kWh
- ×times 100 points to the dollar
- ×times 1.5 for the 50% on top
For example, a NVIDIA RTX 3060 12 GB running 300 hours in a month in Canada uses about 45 kWh. At C$0.1741 per kWh, that is 1,175 points.
The energy comes from our benchmark for your machine's class and the work it did, never from its own power meter.
// Core first
Points start at Core
Your machine can run, and its work counts, before you verify. Points start from the moment your identity is verified to Core, at the price of your verified country.
You must be 16 or older to hold an Atheron account.
// Bonuses
Small bonuses, all inside the cap
Bonuses add together and apply only to checked work.
Uptime, +20%
On a node's month when it was online and accepting work for 95% or more of the month's hours: 684 of 720 in a 30-day month.
Streak, +5%
On results earned while your streak is 30 days or longer.
Beta, +5%
On results from Beta builds of the app, for testing new versions first.
Reputation, up to +10%
Earned from checked work, passed checks and uptime. It starts at a score of 600 out of 1,000 and rises to the full bonus at 1,000.
AI-class cards, +10%
On results from data-centre and workstation graphics cards (the NVIDIA 48 GB and 80 GB classes, AMD Instinct) and Apple M-series Ultra chips. A card earns it only once its benchmark reaches the AI-class line, so naming a card is never enough.
Streak badges
- Spark at 7 days
- Flare at 30 days
- Nova at 100 days
8,500 points a month at most
The cap is per device, bonuses included: each graphics card and each processor you link has its own. Work past the cap still counts for the leaderboard and your node card. It just earns no more points that month.
// Spending points
What points buy
Your plan, from go-live day
Points pay for Atheron subscriptions from the day live trading opens.
Add-ons and pre-orders, later
Then add-ons and pre-orders, and merchandise after that.
Never cash
Points are plan credit only. They are never paid out as cash or anything like it, and they cannot be transferred.
A month of each plan, in points:
- Glacier: 3,400 points
- Arctic: 9,800 points
- Aurora: 20,700 points
When points clear
Points show live on your node card. They clear into your balance 14 days after the work is checked. Points pay for at most 6 months of plan in any 12, the same rule as all Atheron points. Points beyond what you can spend are kept with no expiry, ready for when you can use them. Points earned when a point was one US cent are converted once to Canadian cents at the same value, so a balance keeps its worth.
// Fair play
How cheating is handled
- A failed check, or disagreeing with a confirmed answer, is a strike. Three strikes in 30 days suspends the machine and holds its pending points for review.
- An answer our own machines prove wrong suspends the machine at once.
- Cheating found before points clear voids them. Found after, they are taken back.
- A suspension covers all of a person's machines. You can appeal through Support.
